Hi, I'm Holly… a wife and mother, beekeeper, farmer, educator, permaculturalist and lover of God and all things in His beautiful creation. My passion is in engaging and educating people about living sustainability and empowering others, both young and old to live lighter.
I run workshops all across Melbourne and from our property in the Yarra Valley, teaching people the skills of keeping backyard bees, reducing our waste and making our own beeswax food wraps, salves and balms.
But the best part of my job is getting to teach little humans about bees, sustainability and our food system! I run a series of Mini-beast incursions for kindergarten and school groups where children have the amazing opportunity to encounter bees and bugs in a whole new way.
Check out the video below to see the fun that we get up to in the honey bee incursion! This series of incursions challenges the children to think more broadly about the role mini-beasts play in a sustainable future, in our agricultural and food security systems and ultimately our health and wellbeing.
There you'll discover a lot more than just bees in Holly's Backyard! Visit our Backyard Pantry today.

"Holly's Bee Incursion is a wonderful experience for preschool children where they can learn about and understand bees. Holly is an engaging presenter with a wealth of knowledge, she uses age appropriate language and quickly establishes a good rapport with the children. The structure of the experience and the equipment (including bees in a viewing box) allows all children to actively participate and ask questions. Such a valuable and worthwhile incursion, your children will talk about it for a long time afterwards."
